Flow arts is a term used to describe a variety of performance art disciplines that aim to create a state of flow or "moving meditation" in the performer and often the audience. These art disciplines involve the skillful manipulation of objects in motion, often to some musical accompaniment.

The term "flow arts" is relatively new, encompassing many activities such as gloving, poi spinning, staff spinning, juggling, hoop dancing, and contact juggling. Flow artists often strive to enter a state of "flow" - a state of peak performance in which the body and mind are entirely focused and in harmony. This state can be incredibly exhilarating and addicting, and it's no wonder that more and more people are getting into the flow arts daily.

Gloving is a form of flow art that has become increasingly popular in recent years. A glover, the artist and performer of gloving,  wears LED-lit gloves to create light patterns in the dark, often to the beat of some music. Gloving can be performed with other flow arts such as poi and staff spinning, often seen at music festivals. Modern glove artists have come to consider gloving as an art, where they use components of their show like musicality, showmanship, and space perception to connect with and make an impression on their audience.

The flow arts are a beautiful and mesmerizing way to express oneself, and gloving is a great way to get started. If you're looking for a new and exciting way to express yourself, the flow arts are worth checking out!
